Details Tour Ausangate Glacier 1 day

CUSCO – CUSIPATA – AUSANGATE – RETURN TO CUSCO

Your day begins early at 4:00 a.m., when our transport will pick you up from your hotel in Cusco for a 3-hour drive to the town of Cusipata. Along the way, you’ll pass through charming Andean villages and the beautiful landscapes of the Southern Valley of Cusco.

Upon arrival in Cusipata, you’ll enjoy a traditional breakfast prepared by local families. Afterward, we’ll continue our journey toward the Ausangate village, a small community of herders and farmers that offers a privileged view of the majestic Ausangate Mountain. From this point, we’ll begin our hike to the glaciers.

The trek takes approximately 3 to 4 hours round trip, depending on the group’s pace. During the hike, you’ll cross stunning natural scenery — small emerald lagoons, herds of llamas and alpacas, and the impressive snow-capped peaks reflecting on the crystal-clear water.

Once at the glacier zone, you’ll have time to soak in the scenery, take amazing photos, and feel the energy of one of Peru’s most sacred mountains. The atmosphere is awe-inspiring — massive blocks of ice, the Andean wind echoing through the mountains, and the humbling sense of standing before an ancient giant.

After the hike, we’ll return along the same trail to Cusipata, where a delicious buffet lunch made with local products will be waiting. Finally, we’ll board our transport back to Cusco, arriving around 6:00 p.m., with your heart full of unforgettable memories and incredible photos from this adventure in the glaciers of Apu Ausangate.
