This excursion is very different from the usual Vinicunca Tour, Palccoyo is a mountain of Colors located in the town of Checacupe, on this tour to the Palccoyo mountain we will have the opportunity to appreciate a great variety of South American camelids, we can also have beautiful views of the Vilcanota mountain range.
It is also a great option for those traveling with their children, this tour is perfect for travelers who do not usually take long walks and want to see the colorful mountains of this region with a minimum of effort and walk a full day through the mountains of Colors. Although Palccoyo is at a high altitude, the trail itself is short and relatively flat and much less visited than Vinicunca Mountain.
CUSCO – CHECACUPE – COMBAPATA – PALCCOYO – CUSCO.
Our tour to the Palccoyo mountain of colors begins at 4:00 in the morning with the pick up of our transport in your respective hotel, we will immediately begin the trip through the southern valley of Cusco, until we reach the town of Cusipata where we will make a brief stop to have breakfast and go to the bathroom, then we will arrive in Checacupe, to appreciate the colonial bridge of more than 300 years old, then we will continue our way towards the town of Combapata; From this point we will travel on an unpaved road, and then start our walk in 1 hour and 30 minutes (depending on the physical state in which you are, it may be longer) towards the Palccoyo Mountain of Colors (We will walk approximately 1.5 km) . We will arrive at Palccoyo Mountain of Colors, located at 4900 m.a.s.l., after enjoying the panorama, we will continue for 30 minutes uphill, to visit the Palccoyo stone forest, with figures carved for thousands of years by the forces of nature. At the end, we will take the best photos of these beautiful places, to start the walk back on the same route, to take our minivan and return to Cusipata, where we will taste a delicious lunch, arriving in Cusco between 5:30 and 6: 00 pm Approximately.
