Rajuntay Snow Mountain Full Day Tour

LIMA – PACHACHACA – RAJUNTAY – RETURN TO LIMA

The Rajuntay tour usually begins very early, between 3:00 and 4:00 a.m., departing from the city of Lima. After a few hours of travel by vehicle, you will arrive at the starting point of the trek — where the real adventure begins.

The hike to the glacier takes around 3 to 4 hours uphill, depending on the group’s pace. From the very beginning, the scenery is spectacular: valleys covered with ichu (Andean grass), colorful mountains, herds of llamas and alpacas grazing peacefully, and the sound of the wind whispering through the peaks.

As you gain altitude, the views become even more impressive. Small crystal-clear lagoons appear, mirroring the deep blue sky, and soon, the white silhouette of Rajuntay Mountain emerges — rising majestically as a guardian of the Andes.

The final section of the trail is the most challenging, as the altitude exceeds 5,000 meters. However, reaching the base of the glacier and admiring its grandeur is an indescribable reward. Many travelers say that Rajuntay emanates a unique energy — a blend of respect, peace, and admiration for the power of nature.
